Light just got laid off. Wish us luck. We're in as good a place as we can be for this, there's no danger of being out on the street (though it would be easier if our house would sell) it'll just be...a period of coping, shall we say.

My current thinking is that I'll leave off with the self-investigation and start looking for a medical job in the area, and start my midlife crisis again in another six years or so. So, if you've got job leads for either hospital billing work or a java programmer in the Boston area, sending them our way will earn you undying gratitude and probably baked goods.
