Well, my second to last week is half done, and it's weirdly exhausting. I'm pretty sure as of next friday, however, I'm going to start to have a very fraught relationship with whining, even this forum, which seems to be the place where my whining goes.

Last weekend was good and bad. The sustainable living festival was far, far too wet to be enjoyable. Had I the right shoes, or the rain been about ten degrees warmer, it might have be awesome. We retreated to the boston area, acquired B's keys and hung out at his house. The next day was brunch, which included another awesome mix from Chile, and then back to B's for episodes of Angel and strawberry-rhubarb pie. With the strawberries and rhubarb left over from that, I just made Light a secondary birthday cake, a strawberry-rhubarb pudding cake slump recipe from one of the many food blogs I read.

Media and Saint are picking up Saint's ring tonight.

Monday, when I got home I heard an odd noise from the porch. Assuming it was a squirrel trying to hijack the birdfeeder, I whipped open the blinds. Imagine my surprise to find a giant bear sitting on the corner of my porch, licking the seed out of the birdfeeder. Once my shock wore off, I realize there were also three baby bears frolicking on the lawn. Sadly, the necessity of taking pictures through a closed window and a screen meant they didn't come out very well, but I ended up calling one of our neighbors (the ones with a child that they frequently play outside with) and ended up having a handful of strangers in my house bear-watching. Good times, but now I peer around every time I have to leave the house.

Saying I want to fastforward to next part isn't true, the idea of wishing any part this life away feel gross, but I want to find out what happens next, and I want to find out Right Now. Hopefully, I find a not-crazy way to deal with this. Wish me luck.
