sneaking up on the topic of my beasties

1. All the dogs that my friends got before and after I got Moppet, that convince me I can do this whole dog-owning thing. (I freely admit I got the training-wheels version of dog-owning.)
2. All the childhood pets, the mean tortoiseshell, the giant black cat, the newfie-boxer mix, the chow-collie mix, the sweet tortie. Other than college, I have really never lived without small furry animals in my space.
3. People who know that they can't take care of their animal and so instead give them to rescue organizations where they make their way to second homes. (Moppet and Frye both came to me from owner-surrender situations)
4. All the rescues that I've ever adopted any animal from, the Petsmarts that host adoption days, the people who foster cats and let me into their homes to meet them.
5. All the amazing vets and vet techs and specialists that I've had the good fortune to have tend to my animals. Porter Square Vet, Mass Vet Referral Hospital, the Cat Hospital, that place on route 9 in Northampton.
