Jun. 13th, 2004 06:46 pmlots of stuff.
most of it good.
(i just told cherished trying to figure out how to want houses is like trying to figure out how to want a third arm, or the moon.)
friday night, hottubs with motion and history and two people without names of their own yet. (though by the gods is history's new housemate adorable). strawberries and chocolate and mead and champagne and naked and nearly naked pretty women, and then back to history's house, and we stayed there until Three Ack Emma. way, way past my bedtime. i got to wrassle with caustic for a good time, and it was surprising satisfying, and there was talking.
saturday, i spent most of the morning and well into the afternoon regretting the culinary adventures of the previous night. eventually, i perked up, and made dinner and dessert from scratch. (light bought me a new skillet. if i could have sex with it, i would). i had a blast, dancing around the kitchen to paul simon, and unsuccessfully convincing the cat that she didn't like vegetables. mexican vegetables on cornbread from the moosewood recipe flipbook and strawberry shortcake from scratch. (well, i didn't grow the strawberries). a couple episodes of b5, and i succumbed to a migraine, threw up most of dessert, and passed out.
today, there was openhouses and indian food, and strolling around amherst and fantastic sex. and i'm plotting out how to best put my B&N giftcertificate from light to use. (current list is Eats, Shoots and Leaves, something by Sedaris, the last jasper fforde book, if it's out in paperback, something by palahniuk, something by anchee min, infinite jest and....
well, other stuff as it catches my fancy.
i finished masters of doom which Media gave me. It's a book about the two men who were behind Doom and Quake, and as Media said (after I read it) the pace of the book could be charted as such: /\____________. I also read Waifs and Strays, which is a collection of shorts by Delint about teenagers. Currently, I'm burning my way through an Anne McCaffery comp of Dragonsong, Dragonsinger and Dragondrums. (i'm not sure why, it was soothing when i was feeling like crap, and now i have to finish it). depending on when i get to b&n, the next book may be something entirely new and unforeseen, or Mirror,Mirror.
and now, to watch light play Riddick, before we go see the movie. because we are geeks. happy, happy geeks.
