I've decided to try for the 52 new recipes this year. While we cook most nights, it's usually stuff taken out of a pool of about 100 recipes we've determined we like. I'll post the recipe titles under cuts, with a cookbook name, and if anyone wants the actual recipes, please holler.



1. Spice Cake - Encyclopedia of Baking yummy, but somewhat odd.
2. comforting corn chowder with green soybeans and potatoes - passionate vegetarian awesomeness in chowder form.
3. Chipotle potato soup with frizzled leeks -Fresh from the vegetarian slow cooker Frizzled is almost as much fun to eat as it is to say.
4. what a dal - fresh from the vegetarian slow cooker Inedible travesty.

hard to put my finger on, though I think it might be that i use fresh grated nutmeg in so many savory/cheese dishes using it in a sweet dish confused my taste buds. and, since it was for my little brother, though the cake was from scratch, the frosting was pure plastic tub of nasty with maple syrup mixed in.
