Clear evenings and stars and stars and stars

Here's the thing (a thing) I want someone to say to me: I like your brain, I like your style. I like the dimple at the side of your eye and that you're almost always trying to grow.  I find the things your tattoos imply about your relationship to pain fascinating and I want to take you out to ice cream and ask you all the questions and flirt with you.  

 

Pinned under Spark waiting for her to fall deeply asleep enough that I could put her in her crib, and having left my phone downstairs so unable to read or play soothing matching games, I started to wonder about what I actually would want out of poly speed dating were I to participate.  And I realized that I don't want a first date or a speed date, I want a third date or a friends+ date or something along those lines.

 

Today, Spark and I ran around the splash pad in Somerville for a very long time, but I think our sunscreen mostly worked and I looked a little bit like a muppet in my blue long shorts and blue longsleeve rash guard.  Then she napped, and Delight fed me sourdough banana bread and we watched SYTYCD auditions and I passed out on their lap.  Spark woke up, we played on the couch, I came home and packed up three more boxes, including the task of beginning to unwind all the things I've wound around the bars on my canopy bed (what's it called when it's got the structure of a canopy bed but doesn't have a canopy?) and packing up my altar (I am kind of looking forward to restructuring it and reacquainting myself with all the things and their meanings when I get to set it up again.  My altar currently resides on top of a five foot ish bookshelf, which means the cats can't get to it, but I have to stand on a stool to fully appreciate it.  

 

I also went through our pantry to start determining what I could use before we moved, what I could throw away and what I could put to the rest of the household to determine their attachment to.  We're going to be eating a lot of pasta and oatmeal between now and moving day, I suspect.
