Jun. 23rd, 2014 09:51 pm Day Thirteen
My office has recently moved from one floor of the landmark center to another. I now have an office with a door that closes, and walls to decorate.
When we were cleaning out the other office, we ended up recycling a lot of old national geographics and assorted elderly scientific publications (turns out, environmental science has advanced since the early aughts). So, as I was cleaning, I snagged as many of the maps as I could. The eventual destination is crafty things, but right now I'm using the maps as temporary wall decorations until the office gets repainted (which should happen this summer). Then I will have all this glorious wall space, upon which I intend to put other maps and brightly colored things.
The downside (upside?) of the office is that I get into the zone much more readily and forget to leave it. Like I'm going to work an eight hour day today because it's easier and I'm not restless and ready to snap the same way I was when we were in an open office that made me flee as quickly as possible. I wonder how this will change my workschedule and my mood in the days to come.
