Jan. 2nd, 2013 07:01 pmI'm feeling very agitated about my schedule, and this is certainly not helped by being couch-bound by a cold, unable to focus and dozing in and out of consciousness.
I know everyone's lives have lots of moving parts, and from where I stand, it looks like everyone else is navigating their paths without anywhere near as much flailing. And of course, since everyone else also has a full-time job, and I don't see them complaining, it's ungrateful and horrible of me to not be able to manage my own.
But I still want to take a chainmail class, and a museum studies class, I want to volunteer at the asylum, work out with a trainer twice a week, go to therapy, have study dates with Light, and lunch dates with Purple, and those are only the things that are scheduled weekly. And I know there are huge benefits to putting my time where my mouth goes, but it seems like it would be so much easier with a car. I'm not going to get one, I'm just going to get intermittently frazzled about how much time I spend waiting for buses. And I'll be the first to admit I get crankier about this in the dead of winter and the dead of summer.
I don't exactly miss the unhealthy Northampton days, where I worked ten hours, walked the quarter mile home and then stayed in the house, occasionally drive myself to the dentist or the doctor, latherrinserepeat. But it certainly was more predictable.
Where did I sleep last year? Somerville, MA. Seattle, WA. Hawaii. New York City. Tarrytown, NY. Burlington, MA. Billerica, MA. Norfolk, MA. Stowe, VT.
Where to I intend to sleep this year? Somerville, MA. New York City. Tarrytown, NY. Burlington, MA. Billerica, MA. Norfolk, MA. Jeffersonville, VT. Delafield, WI. Somewhere where SSG is. Somewhere warm with scuba diving TBD. Maybe Baltimore, if I get adventurous.
I'm hoping this cold means that the year can only get better from here on out. 'cause I'll admit, it's pretty miserable right now.
