Sep. 10th, 2008 08:48 pmA day of consumerism spent with my mom. I now own designed-for-walking shoes. they're butt-ugly, and Nike, though as inoffensively branded as humanly possible. Hopefully, this will be all it takes to stop my heels from hurting most of the time. Other silly things were purchased, and put aside as holiday presents, though there's a good chance my mother will not hold out that long and gift them to me between now and then. Someday, however, I will own shiny purple napkins and all my guests will be required to pretend they go with my brick red plates.
My gum's infected again, but I managed to suck it up and call the dentist and get an appointment for 9am Friday. Hopefully, once again, it's minor and just requires nasty mouthwash and antibiotics. I'm always afraid this time will be the time that it's not just the gums, it's back into the bone.
Bookgroup was interesting. I definitely felt like the naysayer of the crowd, but I also have a huge crush on one of the facilitators, and some of my points were agreed with, either verbally or by nodding. I will not mind going back, I think.
Still have a lot of emails to write and am still a little confused why I'm balking at all of them. Came up with a new tattoo idea that seems rock-solid, but have chosen to put a reminder in my google calendar saying "if you still want it, you can get it" at some point in the future. I desperately wish I had enough chutzpah to go the boston tattoo convention this weekend, but I don't. However, I do have some other lovely weekend plans including a profusion of apples, which will suit me just fine.
