Aug. 15th, 2008 11:15 pmIn the process of unpacking, I have uncovered a huge number of cassette tapes. The only reason I held onto them this long is because my old car only played cassette tapes, and now that car doesn't even exist. Sadly, most of these are unlabeled and for whatever reason, I can't throw them out unless I know what's on them. This involves a little musical tour through the past sixteen years. Some of it is fascinating, some of it is humiliating, some of it is just plain funny.
I did very little today, alternating between the weird buzz that excedrin migraine gives me and the crash that happens when all that caffeine wears off. I did, however, manage to roughly sort my books. I think I've come up with a plan for at least how to paint the master bedroom (dark colored trim) but gods only know how I'm going to put art up there. I am still looking for frames that will work for 4 1/8 by 5 7/8 postcards, since I want to put up a whole wall of Quint Buchholz postcards somewhere.
We're trying to plan our two year anniversary as well. Current front-running ideas are going up to Acadia National Park and wandering around, or back to Stowe (where we honeymooned) or some other quiet destination yet to be determined. I like touristy vacations, and easy hikes and waterfalls (I sound like a bad personal ad) and sparsely populated hotels. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to proffer them.
