Aug. 13th, 2008 02:21 pmI read less poetry than I would like, but am drawn over and over again to the soothing idea of narrative, books with beginnings and middles and ends. Poetry reminds me of what I misplaced, of what I've left behind, luggage illsuited to this particular road. I don't miss it, exactly, except for when I do, and reading what others have written makes me wonder if I ever actually had any skill, and what exactly art there is in compromise.
That said, this is my new favorite poem.
