I keep all my unmatched socks, not because I think I'll somehow spontaneously regenerate the missing socks but because it's easier to deal with the frustration of having a bundle of said socks than to deal with the frustration when I do somehow find one of the lost souls and have just thrown away its partner, having resigned myself to the fact I'll never have its mate again. I feel, in the end, that this is either fodder for a free will horoscope or is something large and telling about my psyche.

We made bad food tuesday night, but it was funny bad food. Passionate Vegetarian is growing on me, though I felt guilty because it was such a dish-intensive recipe sort of bad food, and then because Light is the bestest husband ever, he took the leftovers of the bad food and let me take the leftovers of the wondrous shepherd's pie to work. I remember absolutely, passionately loathing shepherd's pie as a child, but somehow the whole fake meat-cinnamon-thyme combo and the leek and cheese topping makes me want to eat nothing but this, all the time.

5. Cardamom Bread. Mixer Bible Awesomeness. Priscilla is a thing of shiny pink beauty.
6. Spicy Potato Patties. Whole Food Cookbook Spicy potatoes. Good if you want a spicy potato side, I guess. Not my thing.
7. Chicken Fried Tofu with fake chicken gravy. Passionate Vegetarian Weird and bad, but wicked funny.
8. sesame roasted tofu with satay sauce and broccoli. vegetarian supercook we made it with carrots and snow peas, not broccoli. it was okay, but greasier than i'm interested in.

WoW makes me read less. Which for the moment, I'm okay with which is probably a danger sign all in itself, but I've made the rule for myself I can't play until I've both made dinner and stepped, and I'm going to try to hold fast to that. But my mouth seems to be getting infected again, and maybe it's wimpy, but I give myself a free pass on the days when it hurts my mouth to exercise. Maybe I should try and find something lower impact, with less bouncy, but so far my silly little stepper is the only thing I've been able to consistently convince myself to do.

I think my grammar is slipping, and I'm not entirely sure what can be done about it. I find myself rethinking things I've said (just as going to try to hold fast. Which I'm 96% sure is right and going to try and hold fast is wrong. But I never used to have to think about these things. Maybe it's time to mug a high school student for a grammar textbook.

I had a mostly-awesome weekend. Not-game on Friday night, since we were all exhausted, so there was lounging and good company and an Orangina. Saturday began poorly, with dental bleeding and othersuch, continued on into grocery shopping, and then ended, three gazillion times better than it began, with awesome company, the world of warcraft board game, then ice cream, then boggle and guitar hero and good conversation. The next day was binging at the local box office, thinking better of binging at the kitchen store, and then hanging out with lovely people and eating thai.

The week has been good. I played hooky today, took a knitting class yesterday, and intend to go to the historical Deerfield chocolate festival on Saturday. Ava Luxe is having a valentine sale, and well, I'm intending to binge on more perfume samples. I like this life.
