Dec. 3rd, 2006 07:48 pmI lost most of my weekend to Bookworm Adventures.
Friday night, we took advantage of restaurant week to finally go to Zen, which was gorgeous. And it was neat to be someplace with a glass wall for the storm with all the gorgeous lightning. It also helped me get in the holiday mood, because inside you could see christmas lights and wreaths (before the storm) and couldn't feel the unseasonable weather.
Saturday began poorly, as I freaked out completely about trying to figure out how to combine a wedding announcement and holiday card. There was weeping and sulking and the desire to throw up. The eventual resolution was that we shall mention our elopement in the holiday cards, and then send out a combination announcement/new years card.
Eventually the day took an upturn, and there was good conversation, grocery store and then making our MakeUp thanksgiving. Turmeric rice, curried apple soup, and the desserts all got postponed, but the tofurkey, vegetarian onion gravy, chestnut and cider stuffing, apricot glazed sweet potatoes, mustard mashed potatoes, balsamic green beans, cranberry sauce, cranberrymango chutney and mulled cider were all awesome and now our fridge is full of a ludicrous amount of leftovers. (I even bought sparkly holiday tupperware). Then out to B&N for a bit, and home for Bookworm for me and WoW for Light. Also a great deal of online giftshopping, which left me feeling less frazzled.
Today was a late, late start but ended up back at B&N to finish my book, and then out to buy a tree, which now happily resides in my living room. (Noisy began by fearing and has now moved on to pointedly ignoring it.) Curried apple soup for dinner and shortly there will be ironing and thankyou cards.
For now, if you would like a card and think I might not have your address, please comment. (they're screened). Fair warning, though, if I've got your address, I'll probably be sending you one.
