(no subject)

i keep doing this, writing halfentries and leaving them unposted. it's probably indicative of my unresolved, uncomfortable, uncertain state of mind. not that my entries are usually all that full of closure and coherency, of course, but it feels differently flavored right now.

However, I did just go the anniversary dinner at Apollo Grille with Algonquin and Tulip and it was my favorite kind of meal, where we all sampled bits of everyone's dinner (i need to make mustard mashed potatoes). I'm wearing my new fuzzy bathrobe, watching the Iron Chef America honey battle, and intending to go to cider day and home depot tomorrow.

I've emailed all my mother's sisters, telling them i got married. i don't expect a response, but i feel good for having tried. i wish i had that sort of peace about the rest of my attempts to interact. i think i've figured out my little brother's birthday present.

Light flies to Pittsburgh next Friday, and I've got the day off of work, and this combination makes me unsettled. I imagine i'll spend the entire day cleaning, since my favorite aunt and uncle (my father's brother and his wife) are coming to visit that Saturday, but it'll be the farthest away we've been from each other in a handful of years. Fortunately, the cats will keep me company.
