The good news is my darling fiance (I've decided that I can in fact type the word, I just still have a problem saying it, sounds too much like something you'd do to onions) bought me ten boxes of Mary Twining Spiced Tea. I'm not sure which makes me happier, the ingredients list (Tea, Ginger Root, Cinnamon Bark, natural flavours) or the greeting on the inside of the box lid which says "Congratulations on good taste" but I now have a nigh-unlimited supply of the stuff. Also he bought me an absolutely gorgeous bouquet, complete with huge purple irises, pink tulips, yellow dais and a handful of other purple flowers I can't identify, which I've been staring happily at when I can no longer summon the force of will to concentrate on work. Also, when Light got a new laptop this one officially became mine, which means i switched the homepage to quitmeter. Approximately $4,537.25 saved by not smoking.

The notsogood news is that the surgery site did in fact get infected, and while I'm somewhat relieved to actually have something wrong (and Dr Ben even said it was good of me to have noticed and come in), it's also sore, and the antibiotics appear to actually have the effect of making me feel as though someone has attempted to beat me unconscious. Which may also be an effect of the time-change, or allergies, or just general unwellness, but I'd like to blame it on something finite.

Our vacation was truly awesome. The room at the B&B was huge and decadent, and the amount of crap we ended up strewing across it amused us both. We ended up watching the rest of the first season of Scrubs, the end of the first season of House, and I tried to get into Battlestar Galactica and failed entirely. (basically, I'd be happily getting enthralled in the plot, and then there would be a gaius/six scene, and I'd have to keep myself from standing up and walking out of the room. Which is maybe a clever trick of character development, but if so, it's so clever it's made me decide not to give up watching it entirely. I've also barred us from any further DVD purchases for the rest of at least this month, but the second that ban is lifted, seasons two and three of scrubs will be mine.

On the not-electronic front, this was yet another vacation that reminded me exactly how spoiled I am in terms of being able to eat out. Northampton causes me to forget entirely that elsewhere vegetarians are usually limited to dishes that contain one of the three vegetables I really don't like. (broccoli, mushrooms or zucchini) Also, as much as I like to eat out, I really find it kind of annoying to be limited to ordering food that ends up being something that I could make myself and better (which at the moment mostly means if we eat out, i'll want to eat ethnic). Fortunately, we'd decided to stock the fridge with things-to-eat-in-bed, and had hummus and cheese and fruit and tofurkey and pitas and cookies, and the teeny organic store on the corner provided us with a strange sweet raspberry sparkling cider, the inn provided yummy breakfasts, and the second day we decided to eat lunch out, a far more appealing option and the local café provided me with a huge salad of lettuce, walnuts, tomatoes and blue cheese and a sandwich of more tomatoes, a huge slab of mozz and pesto. Upon discovering that Pittsfield's Ben and Jerry's was closed (i'd heard rumor of their new flavor - Baklava) we decided to check out a nearby chocolatier http://www.chocolatesprings.com/index.php. I had a five dollar cup of the best cocoa ever. (I involuntarily and unironically fluttered my eyelashes, I'm pretty sure) and light had some sort of chocolate mousse cake and we were happily sated. The weekend also included a trip to Bash Bish falls, which was an absolutely fantastic split waterfall, and a not-without-challenge scramble down and up a mountainside. This reminded me that I'd really, really like to be in better shape by the time June rolls around, so as not to embarrass myself quite so much following Media and Mech around the hills of San Francisco.

dental woes aside, i'm feeling strangely good amount about myself who i'm turning into and how. and i'm very much torn between trying to pick apart the feeling to figure out how to recreate it later, and just sort of drifting along with it.

this post has no particular end though, except my desire to nap and Funnyface's desire to sit on the computer.
