"Toe pick!"
Mar. 12th, 2006 07:41 pmmy weekend was awesome.
We left here friday night, drove to Norfolk and had a "congratulations" dinner with my parents, complete with take-out thai and chocolate pudding cake with frozen yogurt. my parents continue to behave so well that it's really, really freaking me out. we left and drove to B's and stayed up too late talking. The next morning, I got up early and read for a while, then there was brunch with B and Chile and her boy (who was awesome) and it was a jazz brunch, and the strange man played, among many other unidentifiable wonders, an instrumental jazz 'version' of "Last Train to Clarksville" and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" and then we walked for a bit (skirt weather makes me very, very happy) and then to Jade's, and then back to B's to play with a fascinatingly complicated character-creation systems called something like Harnmaster and V came over for the pirate game, and then to her house for homemade pizza and what turned out to be an absolutely awesome game. I'm a little bit ashamed to admit how much fun i had played the World of Warcraft boardgame, but there it is. a combination of good company and an engaging gameplay managed to keep me up until about 1 in the morning. and i got to talk to Media and pin down visiting dates, so Light and I will be headed to San Francisco in the end of June.
today was a lazy day, more reading, frenchtoast, more conversation and once again, B proved he has the best movies and showed me Playing by Heart, and then we drove home.
I'm trying to figure out how to just sort of gloss over what's happening this saturday, and think instead about the B&B we've got booked for our anniversary weekend and the presents i'm going to give Light, or the stove we're going to buy when we decide on a model, and so now i'm going to eat blackberrylime sorbet and watching The Cutting Edge that tivo so kindly saved for me.
