Sep. 5th, 2005 09:20 amanyone want to come visit my cats while Light and I are in pittsburgh in late september? they'll be all lonely'n'stuff. and you can raid our dvds and sit on the comfy couch and do your laundry andpretty much anything you can think of that doesn't involve property damage.
i've decided to start treating myself to horror movies on thursdays, all by my lonesome. So many scary movies to see, so short a season. i'm hoping to start by seeing RedEye at 4:25 this thursday. (if light goes to game, of course).
i preordered Anansi Boys.
On the moviebabble front, The Cave was strongly influenced by Pitch Black. and it was very, very bad. A Beautiful Mind was a fantastic movie, though a little bit itchy-making, since it tapped into those if-i-was-stronger, i-would-have-stayed-in-academia feelings. but the yummiest cupcakes ever, and the fact that Lilo had spent much of the earlier part of the evening playing Donkey Konga sort of rendered being depressed not an option. and Light enjoyed Run Lola Run, and I'm finally going to netflix Princess and the Warrior, though next I have decided I must subject Light to the wonder of Coyote Ugly (since the hot rockclimbing girl in the cave was also violet in CU and he's never seen it.)
nothing spectacularly interesting on the food front. we've got two watermelons, one of which we'll be bringing to the potluck along with some pulan, and this week i'm making a bean dish that involves a quartercup of minced ginger, and the magical spinach salad with sauteed onions, cuminseed, apples and avocado and a magical pasta dish that involves marinating some hominy, chickpeas and mozzarella in a lot of balsamic vinegar. apparently, to me, nothing interesting means nothing i haven't made before.
i never know how to end these things.
