Jan. 1st, 2006 05:08 pmmore upbeat entry.
i'm expecting my thirties to be a lot better than twenties. so i've got a good feeling about 2006.
2005 contained many good things. a solid year in this awesome house with Light, a trip to San Francisco. another year of not smoking, a year of not drinking, 100 books. I also lost a couple things, some friends, some money, some blood and bone.
the same things plague me, year and year out, with slightly different flavors each time. i'm not at peace with my past, or the fact that i haven't Done Anything, but i've a fantastic partner, this year brought me some fantastic friendships, and i'm more myself than i think i've ever been. i'm planning on setting a couple small goals for myself, fifty books, 25 new recipes, writing daily, even if it's just a private sentence or two. Mostly, i'm just going to try and be a different version of brave though. and renew my resolution not to become a crack whore this year.
and, of course, i'm going to master Guitar Hero this year.
