omnia_mutanturi haven't been posting much. work's had an OT freeze combined with covering for other people's vacations leaves work a little hectic, while the holidays and related issues leave my home life less than tranquil.
i've been reading and cross-stitching more, keeping parts of my brain busy in a valiant attempt to make sure that i'm keeping a lid on whatever needs to have a lid kept on it. i'm doing pretty well, and the kitten remains incredibly adorable.
i went downtown this afternoon with a balding Iceberg, and ended up buying an ornament from pride & joy that's a cat with pride wings. the tree's come together, random ornaments and candy cans and purple and blue and white lights. i've made cookies of all kinds, with all different recipes and finally settled on a variation of a chocolate chip cookie recipe that agrees with my oven, but only if i use a specific one of my cookie sheets.
it's funny how conflicts look different from different sides, different experiences coloring the present, and communication never quite working. sometimes i crave talking to someone who has all the same linguistic tools as i do, and i realize not only is it a rarified skill set, but an outdated one as well. and i wonder what faith in language looks like, but it always seems to be just another god, and it doesn't make any more sense than any of the other gods i've seen.
what does everything look like when you strip it down, or is everything another onion? and the age old question, who i chase, who do i step away from, how do i explain who i am? or life just learning more soup recipes and moving books from the to read to the have read side of the list?
