Today I am not-sick enough to feel a little like a human being.   This weekend I have also accomplished things (bought an AC/cleaned the dining room), and handled a minor set-back like I was actually wearing my grownup pants (the kitten I wanted to visit had already been adopted).  I have bailed on tentative plans with Bespoke (since I almost hit the ground in a petsmart from standing up too fast), dropped Mech's wedding cross-stitch off at the framers.    Most of some citrus-buttermilk soup with strawberry-serrano salsa is in the fridge, corn-edamame salad is cooling, fruit soup is also in the fridge, and Light's making pasta with artichoke hearts and feta right now.   I've put away two loads of laundry, played a lot of battleblock theater, transcribed another two months of tampa's 1999 daybook.

And that is weird and touching in all sorts of ways i can't quite figure out yet.   I have fiftytwo years worth of his daybooks, a sentence or two a day, 1947-1999.   I decided to start with the most recent and type up everything, working  backwards and so far It's mostly church and paperwork and yardwork and his second wife's doctor's appointments, but it turns out I'm pretty sure there's going to be a lot of people getting born and dying.

I've almost entirely stopped spiking a fever, which is magical, though I've been sent out of the kitchen because Light doesn't approve of the combination of light-headedness and knives.   I've actually whittled my personal inbox down to 5, one of which is the google calendar reminder of my wedding seven years ago.  This is of course to say nothing of my readercon mail, or what I consider my dump email realfirstname.reallastname@gmail, or work email, but I'll take the little victories.

I think I've come up with an excellent plan to handle visiting my inlaws in August and that plan is a road trip.  A couple days in Niagara Falls, a ferry ride across lake michigan, maybe even a stop at the House on the Rock.  And I'm starting to make plans about going to Baltimore, and Unexpected will visit, and I might get to ship Skin and Grin in from Finland, and girlbiscuit might come to Boston and I ordered a bunch of Passim tickets.    Last weekend, I had one of those "yes! this!" moments and I'm still a little buzzed off of it.   My hair's been recently redyed purple, I've become smitten with a song with slightly dippy lyrics and the shape of my next tattoo is starting to take form (though it'll probably take a bit before I'm ready for a half-sleeve).

In short, I think my mood can best be summed up by raspberry popsicles.  Sure, it'll be a week full of work catch up and doctor's appointments, but I'm going to see Kay Ryan and Neil Gaiman and Delight and Chile and samurai armor by the end of it.    But hell, raspberry popsicles.
