It's amazing how an extra-long wait for public transit can downgrade my mood.

The ten-to-fifteen minute delay onto main campus was okay, had it not been announced, I would have just thought that my timing was, as usually, really bad. The hour delay at Park when I was trying to get back to work from main campus was less okay. And I even had a China MiƩville book to read. I should have been golden.

But now I'm here at work, mad at all of my coworkers, knowing that Light and Moppet are all curled up at home just making being here more aggravating, and I just got notice of a handful of work things that I really should attend that aren't happening during work hours.

(On that note, anyone want to go to a Barton Seaver or Fred Kirchenmann lecture with me? Even if you don't, you should totally check out Barton's TED talk.)

I know I'm heading for a crash. I've got that sort of cheerful brittle thing going on and when people ask me how I'm doing I find myself answering "Well, I haven't broken anything yet."

I still need to buy either a fancy new dress (or a very improbable bra for a dress I already have) for the May gala and due to 16 hours of career development class in the past two weeks, I'm finding myself completely buried under emails and paperwork.

And so, of course, I'm posting to livejournal. Hopefully tonight will be a down night.
