Jan. 23rd, 2011 06:51 pmThere are things that I've been able to convince myself to do. And, admittedly, I feel like three-quarters of them are such old news that they don't even count as a thing I've done, but to me, they're still things I'm doing. I've given up cigarettes, alcohol, self-injury, meat, my ovaries. And then there are the things I can't do, convince myself to exercise, make myself stop missing people, stop eating my feelings. And I for some reason think these things are fixed, inherent.
But, I've got some resolutions for the year. Nothing radical, but all vaguely self-improvement related. I've got a lot of work to do this year, shit's getting real in therapy, and I went to Dana Farber and got the name of a surgeon who will be back from maternity leave in a couple months. I got into the certificate program I applied for at Harvard, and it's being taught by people who also teach at the masters program at Emmaneul that I want to apply for.
However, today I made homemade tomato sauce, comforting seitan soup, carrot-parsnip soup and chocolate chip cookies. I went to a Melissa Ferrick concert this weekend. I canceled on gym with Purple, too exhausted to gym. And now, I'm looking for adoptable dogs in the area that are proven to be cat-friendly, having almost adopted Agatha from the northeast animal shelter yesterday.
