Jan. 19th, 2011 07:06 pmI have survived an Arisia. Now, to the bookkeeping. Well, now to the relaxing and not thinking about it for at least two more days. I still have a handful of rolls of change to bring to the bank, but I've decided to let that ride for a couple more days.
I even had some fun. And I would totally go back next year, though if I do, I'm hoping to volunteer in some exceptionally low impact way, like lifting heavy things.
The librarything panel was neat, the vanity sizing on pendragon costume corsets was awesome (turns out, even if my pants size is 18, I can wear a size 12 waist-cincher), I did get some very nice hugs. The hotel bed was huge and the shower was awesome. (Regrettably, Light, T and I did not have time to watch the a-team porn parody). I got to dress up in things I would never wear in public (I thought I looked like an overweight bondage barbie), and gave away a handful of "fuck cancer" buttons.
I had mixed experiences with Arisia staff. Some of them were amazing, incredible people that I wish I knew how to socialize with in the future. Some of them left me with the feeling that the only choices I had were to either hit them or burst into tears. (I chose the latter). I was blissfully uninvolved in various issues that took place during the con.
Now, I'm going to recatalogue all my books. Thanks, librarything panel!
