Well, I've at least wrassled the anxiety under control enough to call my dentist, make an appointment with a new dentist, and Light and I drove by the office tonight so I think I'll be able to navigate the public transit to get there. And all with only throwing up and crying once or twice.
Yes, in addition to both my skin and my hair deciding that they loathe this change in water quality/type, the gum surrounding my fake tooth (ie dental implant) decided to get infected. And, though chock full of anxiety about just everything, I save a special extra helping for all things dental so this has been super fun. Hopefully tomorrow will bring the magic of antibiotics and if the dentist is half as nice as the receptionist, I'm golden.
We were thinking about going back to Northampton this weekend, to pick up everything we'd forgotten, like extra hangers and screwdrivers and the vacuum cleaner, but we're pretty sure that in the course of our breakup with the Pioneer Valley, we're not exactly ready to just be friends yet. We will be some day, and we'll be back to visit but at this point we think it might just make adjusting to not being there even slower/harder.
Everything about moving has turned me into a giant whinyhead. A giant cigarette-craving whinyhead. But I know where the public library is, and Media visited today, and tomorrow there's some more house hunting and the day after that I'm making a cake for B, and I got him an especially noisy card, and there's an ethopian restaurant around the corner and I actually had fun at Light's employee picnic and goddammit, this will work eventually. Until then I shall fake it and/or cook a lot.
