Apr. 18th, 2006 08:15 pmfocusing on positive things. watch me focus.
I had an awesome time with Tulip last night, and I bought many books. (I'm still forcing myself to finish Complicity even though i'm loathing it. (not in the way i disliked the Byatt, this just feels the author is trying to play me, and cheaply at that.) Then i've got my gift book, and then my new books.)
I got a gift book and an absolutely gorgeous card from the other side of the country that made me grin. I intend to send cookies back, but my plans for baking tonight were thwarted by the fact that the walk to the grocery store, though productive and satisfying (and we saw a huge raptor on the bike trail, making the noise that still sounds like cats brawling to me and wheeling about overhead), also resulted in a achy icepacked knee.
my little brother has a wikipedia entry now, and an awesome one at that. I'm still weird about actually associating this journal with any specific names, but let me know if you want to share in the glory and i'll tell you directly.
the falafel burgers were weird and failed to be burger-like but suceeded in being yummy.
i have ludicrously cute cats.
i think i'm finally beginning to get in touch with enjoying evenings that are things like "schedule an oil change, make dinner, walk to the grocery store, talk to my little brother online, put the laundry away, go to bed" or more precisely, i'm learning to validate that enjoyment.
