Mar. 5th, 2006 09:55 amso far, so good. pretty mellow weekend, all told.
friday night we hung out on the couch for a bit, then went downtown for veracruzana. the initial plan had been to wander around downtown, but the freezing cold persuaded us otherwise. i'd been craving something from turnitup, but when we actually went in, i wasn't really feeling it,and so didn't buy anything. (it's happened the past couple times i've had dental surgery. i know i'll go into lock-down after writing that big huge check, so i get a couple indulgences beforehand).
Saturday morning was bagels and accumulating good moving karma, then off to the amateur dog show at northampton high with a coworker/friend. (it's that awkward you're awesome but you're a couple years older and sort of my boss friendship). the dog show was pure chaos, but there were a gazillion dogs there and i got to interact with many of them. (I got to pet a baby bernese mountain dog, and a baby spaniel mutt, and a really cute long-haired daschund, and in the fetching competition there was this huge golden who managed to fetch two tennis balls and look like she was the proudest dog ever. and there was a rhodesian ridgeback, and a brindled great dane, and two ludicrously cute shiba inus. (there were, of course, lots of other dogs, but those were the ones that made me make the funny ooo noise)) then the home, and back out downtown (i got an awesome card. anyone want?) and grocery store, and B&N and shoe shopping, then more video games. (I'm still totally loving psychonauts.)
today will hopefully involve the mall to look for a good season of something to watch when i'm recovering from dental surgery (probably northern exposure) shoes, appliances, and maybe some sort of exercise equipment, to the movies to see an awful matinee, and then home for cleaning and trying a new recipe for roasted red pepper soup and watching the jon stewart parts of the oscars. and in order to make it include all that, i must prod us off the couch.
