sleepy and prickly and trying not to get excited about something specific for fear it doesn't work out, and preferring not to confront the demon of my inability to reassure myself unless its strictly necessary. This can probably be mistaken for pessimism, or just general eeyore-nature, which I certainly have some of, but feels more specifically self-preservation oriented.
