a quarter done (hopefully)
Apr. 12th, 2005 02:39 am#25. Three Junes by Julia Glass. Borrowed from Media's girlfriend (who will get her own nickname any second now). unsure whether or not i like it, but much like everything is called something (and though that quote ends with kid, i want to end it with kupo, infected by everything about Girlbiscuit in the best possible way), it's got one of those sentences that i'm turning over and over in my hands, like a wellworn beachrock. it's not even really all that thematic in the book, showing up offhandedly in the last chapter, possibly throwaway, possibly too selfconsciously clever, but still like a tuning fork in all the best possible cheesy ways.
"Mind what you love. For that matter, mind how you are loved."
Seven different kinds of cautionary, all of them useful, and none of them about Light. so i'll try and track down every possible way i can interpret the imperative mind, (imperative mind is my new favorite DCD album) and take each one that feels like a lesson to heart, since i'm desperate to learn a variety of new things, and desperation isn't always negative. and i shall simultaneously be mindful and wary, because they're important in all the right ways. there are a thousand ways to love outside of the romantic, and sometimes the how is more important than the how often or the how long.
right now, even my sunburn feels like a gift.
and yes, it's latelate and i'm mushy and incoherent and passionately in love with my life right now. we'll return to our regularly scheduled program sometime, but i'm in no hurry to get there.
