Jan. 31st, 2004 08:59 pmthere's a website that consists of (per junkyard) 629 interlinked poems.
each poem has most of its words linked to the same word in another poem.
most words will have a loop of about five poems that they cycle through a to B to C to D to E to A. and ever since friday night, i've been trying to build the same thing in my head. i can only hold onto about twenty poems, and/or about six full sets of linkages, though obviously i can't see all the links in my head, just the strongest ones.
i like looking at how i think. it reminds me of college, when i could actually see the connections between facts. light proposed a less chaotic way to think about the dataset. at first, i wanted it to be a recursive tree, but it wasn't. my second way is purple and blue in my head, light's way was sort of red/orange/yellow. i don't know why, i'm not sure if i see colors for any particular reason, or i just want things to be prettier.
but i've got the text of about twenty of my favorite poems, or fragments thereof, and a couple pieces of songs, and since i have it in a word document, i can see it easier, since if i'm not using the space to keep the jumping-off point (the speech from american gods), then i can see more lines.
and this is the dorkiest post ever.
in other news, light's back hurts, i've a cold, my annual review annoyed me, my boss is crazy, Chevalier's The Virgin Blue has a dorky ending, and Judies in Amherst has the best french onion soup ever.
later, if i remember, i'll talk about faith, or my cats, or the fact Wary has the best laugh ever, or what it makes me think when i comment in other people's journals and they say nothing back, and that being respected on the strength of my text-presentation is the best feeling ever. and the interview meme is back, and i'll answer it tomorrow, most like.
